Classics. Lilian Linnaks

10

Editors: Merike Alber, Kristi Paap

We know Lilian Linnaks mainly as a jewellery and metal artist, yet her career started working as a designer of modern lamps for the factory Estoplast. With domes of translucent glass found for decades in Estonian homes, they are now considered iconic. Linnaks uses a great variety of materials and techniques in a unique way, making her work easy to recognize. A significant share of her work is wall panels. She has also designed candleholders, vases and bowls. Her favourite material here is aluminium, and she is a master at tinting and enamelling its surface. The catalogue accompanies an exhibition of the same name.
