Classics. Elo Järv

10

Editor: Anne Tiivel

The catalogue is a companion to an exhibition of the same name. Starting out creating embossed bookbindings and sculptural boxes, Elo Järv entered the mysterious world of sculpture. Her leather sculptures are a unique phenomenon in Estonian culture. Her work also includes more common subgenres of leather art: bindings, guestbooks, albums and boxes. She has drawn energy and inspiration from her parents’ memories, Estonian nature and ancient cultures of the Orient, and her social consciousness. She ennobles material qualities, but the intangible side is even more important.
